All Democratic Presidents have lowered unemployment with the exception of President Carter. He neither increased nor decreased unemployment which, while the rate was volatile during his time, remained at 7.5%.
All Republican Presidents, with the exception of President Reagan, saw an increase in unemployment during their time. Reagan reduced unemployment by 2.10%. My book, “Boomer Economics: Baby Boomer-elected Presidents and their Economic Impact” will be out in late 2023.
