Yes, 3 presidents really stand out for highest percentage increase in US national debt since 1964. They are in order of most to least: Reagan (186%), Bush II (101%) and Obama (74%). Remember that for the first term of a president they have no control of the first year since they inherit the previous president’s budget. Additionally, the makeup of Congress certainly matters as well. I will cover this in detail in my book.
